Many years ago at the age of eighteen I took the opportunity to live in Germany for a time. Before I left the father of a close friend, someone that had been a service member living in Europe, gave me some great advice.
"I wish I had saved the beer labels, "he told me. "You are going to get to see many different places, and try many different beers. For each one you try, remember to remove the label from its bottle and write on the back the date, the time, where you were, and what you thought of it. When you come back you will have a great addition to your photos and souvenirs. I wish I had thought of that when I was over there." And I did remember. I massed a nice collection of some very beautiful labels and memorable experiences.
Now, many years removed from those days I sometimes look back through my photo albums and find these wonderful labels scattered throughout the many pictures I took in my travels. I wanted to put those labels online, and I imagined that others might want to do the same.
